7:30pm – 10:00pm The North Door

I’m filling in for Owen hosting the best literary event in town!

The last OPS of 2016! Join Owen Egerton along with America’s favorite writer and cynicism connoisseur Neal Pollack and his son Elijah Pollack, writer/rocker/director and host of Austins The Dionysium L.B. Deyo, entrepreneur wild-mind and globetrotter Carolina Kuczynski Reid, new-book-fresh-off-the-press Seth Meeks, the unbeatable soul of Austin comedy Tom Booker and the OPS lottery winner Margaret Burns! It’s going to be an amazing night at The North Door. Bring along a page of a work in progress, sign up, and we’ll pick a couple of folks out of a hat to read on the spot.

I personally guarantee great things will happen.

Doors at 7, show at 7:30.
Quick readings, slow drinking – a hell of a good night.

S’mores at the Studios

7pm – Bolm Studios Courtyard, 5305 Bolm St, Austin, TX 78702

We’re trying to entice cooler weather to show up. It feels like we should be having s’mores, stories around campfires, and singing. Ok…we probably won’t have a big campfire!

We’ll provide makings for s’mores, a few chairs, entertainment—readings and maybe music—and lots of options for reading materials to take home. Several local Lit groups will be there for a Pop-Up Bookshop inside Bay 11 with their latest offerings. Plus we’ll have a free bin with older Lit journals and magazines.

7pm The Whip In

TL;DR #2

Second edition of TL;DR is coming up on the third Tuesday of this month. Our guest this month are–so far, there could possibly be more–the incredible Felix Morgan who is bringing pages from her new book, and Brian Lamont, who tells me he’s got a short story perfect for our event. Expect naughty werewolves, lots of swearing, plenty of laughter, and probably one or two fart jokes. Basically, perfect for a few beers and some spicy food.

Co-hosts are Cheryl CoutureAndrew Hilbert, and Francois Pointeau.
